Allotment Diary – Weed Special – Dealing With Your Weedy Allotment

Many of us take over allotments that are covered in weeds and the autumn / winter is a great time to clear it ready for the next growing season. Remember though when you have cleared an area to cover it with a tarp or black plastic, though you can use cardboard if necessary as it will break down in the soil. Do not use carpet because it is a nightmare to remove and it can leech toxins into the soil.
